Armed with knives and other sharp implements, more than 50 children butchered, chopped, gouged and chiseled with glee at Wildfire restaurant on Saturday, leaving a slimy trail of orange guts across the tables.
BBQ Fest Honors Vets
Wounded warriors, military dignitaries, civic and business leaders join together.
The 4th Annual Quality of Life Plus (QL+) Veterans Day BBQ brings the attorney general of Virginia, state delegates and County supervisors, other elected officials, active duty and Veteran service members, local sports celebrities, and media personalities together to eat BBQ, bid on auction items, participate in family activities and “Empower Heroes Through Technology”—the event theme—through seeing QL+ assistive devices, made on a case-by-case basis to help veterans live with fewer physical limitations.

A Drama on Growing Up

An intimate memory play about growing up and discovering new worlds and new ideas is next for the McLean Community Players as they produce A.G. Gurney's "What I Did Last Summer." The production takes place in the summer of 1945: WW II is nearing its end and a teenage boy develops self-awareness before heading off to boarding school.
MPA Hosts Annual ArtFest

The McLean Project for the Arts celebrated a banner weekend this weekend: they were recognized by the Arts Council of Fairfax County Friday, Oct. 12 and ended the weekend with their annual ArtFest Sunday in McLean Central Park.

McLean Symphony Announces New Season
Maestro Dingwall Fleary, beginning his 41st year as conductor of the McLean Symphony, announced the upcoming season for the McLean Symphony. The first concert will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the McLean Community Center Alden Theater, 1234 Ingleside Ave., Mclean.

The McLean Orchestra has announced its 41st season, “A Season of Imagination,” introducing newly appointed Music Director and Conductor Miriam Burns of New York City.

Fall is home to several annual traditions in McLean. One such tradition, the McLean ArtFest, hosted by the McLean Project for the Arts, will hit a major milestone this year, and the MPA is celebrating accordingly.
