The McLean High School Theatre Company (MTC) premieres the musical “Big Fish” to the Metro DC area this February. Led by Artistic Director, Amy Poe, and Music Director, Bobby McCoy (1st Stage, Keegan, McLean Community Players), the award-winning company brings this big-hearted musical of a father's story, a son's journey and life's epic adventure.
McLean Theatre Company Earns 21 National, State and Local Recognitions
McLean High School Theatre Company (MTC) recently earned 21 national, state and local theater recognitions from the YoungArts Foundation, Virginia Thespians and DCMetrotheaterarts.com respectively. Nearly all recognized appear in MTC’s upcoming regional premiere of “Big Fish,” running February 16, 19–22 at McLean’s Burks Auditorium.
Chocolate Lover’s Paradise in McLean
Chocolate Festival returns on Sunday, Jan. 25.
One day every year, McLean Community Center is a chocolate lover’s dream. The McLean Chocolate Festival will host 17 vendors selling decadent artisan chocolate goods on Jan. 25, ranging from candies to chocolate dipped bacon.
New Additions at Tower Club
The Tower Club at Tysons Corner, a ClubCorp property, has recently unveiled its expansion as part of the continued development at Tysons Corner Center. For the unveiling of the club’s new Crescent Lounge and upscale restaurant Reserve, members were invited to the Tower Club’s winter wonderland re-opening celebration on Jan. 8.
A Musical on Challenges of Growing Up

Holidays Celebrated at McLean Children’s Academy
The preschool students from McLean Children’s Academy performed for their families at the McLean Community Center singing and acting out holiday songs and decorating the tree with child made ornaments. Students are from McLean, Great Falls, Arlington and Falls Church.

Christmas Market in Tysons
The Tysons Christmas Market is in its second year, this year taking advantage of the new plaza area connecting the mall to adjoining buildings. Lured by the scent of roasting nuts, bratwurst, mulled cider, and baked goods, shoppers will also find an excellent selection of gifts, warm hats, leather, wood and other crafts.
McLean Community Center Hosts Holiday Craft Show
The 32nd annual McLean Holiday Crafts Show featured 72 juried crafters from across the U.S. last weekend, Dec. 5-7, at the McLean Community Center.
McLean Holiday Homes Tour Attracts Hundreds
A ribbon cutting on Dec. 4 kicked off the Woman’s Club of McLean’s 48th annual Holiday Homes Tour at Tour House No. 1, in Langley Farms. Designer Doug DeLuca, honorary tour host, together with McLean Chamber of Commerce Chairman Marcia Twomey, cut the ribbon to open the tour.

Take a sleigh ride of speeding fun with the “Queen of Rural Media” this holiday season as "A Kodachrome Christmas" barrels into the Alden Theatre at McLean Community Center. "Kodachrome" is written by Pat Hazell who wooed audiences last year with his "The Wonder Bread Years."
McLean to Host Holiday Crafts Show
The McLean Community Center’s 32nd Annual McLean Holiday Crafts Show features an exciting mix of handmade items that express a fresh, new take on the traditional. Expect to see bonsai and bamboo trees, sculpted exotic eggshells, hand-dyed batik and all-natural salad dressings, along with the wreaths, ornaments and stained glass windows.
McLean Ready for WinterFest Parade
Parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7.
On Sunday, Dec. 7 McLean residents will welcome in the holidays as more than 60 entries proceed down Old Chain Bridge Road for the annual WinterFest parade.

In a world that can be way too stressful and sober, 1st Stage brings a carnival of rowdy fun and silly jabber. This is the area premiere of the recent Tony Award winning, "One Man, Two Guvnors." It is most definitely a guilty pleasure of escapism.
Spring Hill Liya Ensemble Performs at State Convention
Spring Hill Elementary’s top performing group, the 10-piece Liya Ensemble, had the honor of being selected as the only musical group to perform for the Virginia School Board Association’s convention in Williamsburg on Nov. 19.
